Absurd case: mom faces trial for leaving child in car to make a donation
"Treffly Coyne was out of her car for just minutes and no more than 10 yards away. But that was long and far enough to land her in court after a police officer spotted her sleeping 2-year-old daughter alone in the vehicle; Coyne had taken her two older daughters to pour $8.29 in coins into a Salvation Army kettle..." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080312/ap_on_re_us/mom_on_trial
If this is not a case of one clueless peace officer overstepping his boundaries than I don't know what is. You have got to be one dimwit idiot not to realize how much of a non issue this incident is. Honestly, what alternatives did the mom with a van full of kids have? She has a pack of kids driving to a Salvation Army post to donate their coins and an infant sleeping in the baby seat, all strapped in securely etc. It would really be a stretch to argue here that taking the infant out and attempting to cross a parking lot with the stroller and 3 or 4 kids in tow would be safer than just leaving the infant in place for a mere few minutes, just enough to be able to scoot over to the donation pot, deposit the change and head right back.
The local police department should really be embarrassed for the startling lack of professionalism among their ranks. Dragging this poor mom into court is just absurd. Don't courts have more urgent items to deal with??!?
The officer must clearly be a dimwit idiot and a jerk at that not to realize

Hacked, again... *sigh*
Once again, my portal vanyouth.com was the victim of a mass kiddie script attack that resulted in the loss of a number of media files.
Whereas I was able to restore the portal back to working mode, I will need the help of my regular visitors to help rebuilt the online image albums. If you wish to share your pictures with the youth groups from Vancouver, BC, you are more than welcome to contribute!
Since this latest attack, I have taken measures to make sure all portal content is properly backed up to avoid another major data loss in the future.
Your help and patience are sincerely appreciated!

Hilton-billies...
So much going on around the dubiously promiscuous princess we all grew to hate so badly these past days that I simply couldn't resist but make a blog entry of my own on the issue.
I'll begin with nominating the Judge in this case for an award of meritorious service to his country and all that is just in this world. Despite of all the glamour surrounding the case, the Judge clearly didn't loose his head and did what every law respecting citizen know is just. Peris, despite of her Hilton tag, should take what she deserved. You don't just go muck with the law and expect to get away scotch free, regardless of your daddy's riches.
To Hilton: Cry me a river!! Get a dose of reality and pay your dime for the crime! Get out of your golden cradle, leave all your toys aside, and for once in your life inhale the putrid smell of the real world. You have only yourself to blame for what has come your way. You think partying and going out driving drunk without a license is such a helluva joke!? Well, I hope none in your family had to go through what many other families have to endure when their loved ones lives are taken away but the drunken ignorant SOBs of this planet.
To the Sheriff: I hope your ass is grass. What sort of favours provoked you to let this excuse for human existence escape her just punishment? If I were to be the Judge in this case, I would pursue your sorry behind until you are ran off into a dark isolation jail cell with your tail firmly tucked in. You are disgrace to the other uniformed officers on the line of duty. And, c'mon, don't give me this "health condition" horse dung. How many inmates are out there with all sort of health ailments serving every last day in jail?

Shocking: Judge sues cleaner for $65M over pants
I wish the Chungs family all the best in their legal fight to protect themselves against what must be one of the most absurd legal cases in recent history. Shame on weasel judge Mr. Pearson for dragging this family into court over a pair of his own stinky pants. His estimation of 65Million!!!! in damages over the 'apparent' loss of his pants for a few days is mind boggling. How this egocentric monster could still remain a judge defies all common logic. This bastard better be disbarred before his disgraceful case makes anywhere near the court.

Hilton should not be spared jail time!
I hope the judge reviewing her case would not give her any leeway and send her packing to her own jail cell. This spoiled prima queen should get a taste of reality and for once learn her wealth does not bump her up above the law.
On another note.. driving as recklessly as she does, without headlights, and in drunk stupor, one is only left to wonder how long she could go on without killing herself or harming others? I hope if ever the former is to come true, the latter will not come into it. Let the scum do herself in without hurting others.

Another "D'oh" stody: smoking in pregnancy = BAD
My reaction to the study is "D'oh!".. So? Who else, aside from the author of this study, is surprised here? Honestly, I'll give you $10 if the study outcome rings like a shocking surprise to ya!
I'll never cease to be amazed by people who choose to smoke liberally while going through a pregnancy. If the thought of inflicting severe health impact on your future child is not shocking enough to force you to quit smoking, I don't know what else would work!

Another Bush protege in hot water ...
Kudos to Mr. McCain! The blogging community should join in their calls for Mr. Gonzales to step down from his office of Attorney General. First the Wolfowitz affair, now this. Simply shameful and embarrassing!! What, are these guys figuring we are all dimwits!?!
If you followed this story closely, you'd have definitely come across some of the utterly bizarre statements made by Mr. Gonzales at the congressional hearing. He starts off by arguing he was not involved in the firings of the attorneys, that it was someone else actually doing his job. Under further preassure, he concedes that the meeting to discuss the firings showed up on his calendar but he has no recollection of attending or being there. After even more preassure, he admits that he might have attended the meeting and signed something but still has complete loss of all memory related to the event!!! How incredulous is that!??!
Gonzales, please fire your ass and spare Mr. Bush yet another reason to be laughed at. Would you please remember to do that? After all, Mr. Bush has already earned his entry into the world's guiness book for his creative use of English vernacular and other-worldly intellect. The last thing Mr. Bush needs at this point is to have another good reason to laugh at him.

The World Bank Affair ...
Mr. Wolfowitz, please, for the sake of the international community, step down. You are a corrupt official and your fake apology doesn't fool us. Unfortunately for you, we are all intelligent people.
Nice job on promoting your girl friend the soon you got your job from the Bush league. Wonder what sort of other "favours" you are personally involved in, eh? It is due to people like you and Mr. Bush that the good name of American people is tarnished around the world.
