Why Hezbolla must not exist..
There was an article recently posted by Kevin Sites of Yahoo titled
"Guns in the Closet". It talks about a Lebanese hezbolla fanatic living with his family in a home stocked with a whole military arsenal of weapons, ranging from RPG to assault rifles.
Seeing this, it is hard to not resort to name calling and all manner of vulgar language to describe my disgust with the hezbollah millitants. Who in their right frame of mind would put a toddler within a crawling distance from a granade launcher? Who else could endanger one own's family but a sychotic animal devoid of all reason, compassion, and humanity?
This story simply goes on to further reaffirm my belief that hezbollah is an ammasement of sychopathic barbarians and savages, and nothing more. Terrorist groups like these are the true scum of the Earth. They are the sort of cancerous desease that must be eradicated at all cost. Under the thin veneer of religious and class struggle, they saw hartred and violence amongst the fellow humankind.

Russian Mars Experiment: Unusually Cruel?
According to the story titled "A little piece of Mars in Moscow", a Moscow institute is seeking six volunteers to take part in an experiment where participants are expected to spend 18 months living in a "mock" spaceship, eating processed food, breathing recycled air, and with no chance of early bail out. The twist is that even if they run out of food - tough luck - there's no asking for help as noone will be provided. The enclosed space will not be unsealed until after the 18 months term has expired.
Certainly, in a country the size of Russia there should be very little difficulty in finding six daredevils wishing to signup for a near suicidal scientific experiment like this one. But isn't this going a little too far? Would it be ethical to let the test subjects simply die when they happen to run out of food?

Relax everyone! Moon landing DID happen.
Just happened upon an online biography of Buzz Aldrin, the Apollo 11 astronaut to first lend on the moon. In it, there is a mention of the wacko conspiracy nut Bart Sibrel who was hurled into the public spot light with a punch to the face from Buzz. This was in response to Bart's practically assailing Buzz at a hotel, demanding that Buzz swear on the Bible that the Moon landings were real. Needless to say, the incident, taped on a film, turned Bart into an instant butt of jokes.
Aside from scoring a punch in the nose, Bart has a dubious distinction of having authored what must account for as the worst piece of investigative reporting with his documentary A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Moon. Funny, indeed, thanks to the abundance of absurd logic, wild conjectures, and absolutely inane arguments. There's a great article at BadAstronomy.com debunking Bart's Moon landing hoax arguments. Take a read and see if you catch yourself having shared some of Bart's views. I'm sure you'll have a good laugh at yourself then! ;-)

Cop murderer defender asks us to hear his teary story!?!
So, according to the story the dog has given up and limped back into custody. He's joined up with his idiot father in jail. Yes, that same dimwit who earlier tried to save the dog from capture, following the cold blooded murder of two RCMP cops, both with headshot wounds.
What enraged me about the story the most, is the murderer's defence lawyer's absolutely off the wall statement:
“I think Curtis’s story needs to be told and it will be told, just not today.”
What story!? Who cares!? Jail his stinky ass till his last breath and be done with it! The bastard just terminated two lives and with it destroyed the lives of both wives, a 11-year-old child, and a 9 month old baby, not mentioning numerous relatives and close friends. And now we should pause for a second to hear his "story"? Well, this is to you Mr. Defender: WHO GIVES A DAMN! Your job should be to defend, not excuse acts of pure evil!

Islam - religion of terror?
According to one former catholic altar boy turned a muslim, Islam is a religion of jihad, terror, and death. In his own words from an interview given to a CNN correspondent (full article):
"[Islam] is not a religion of peace, it is a religion of war at the time of war and peace at the time of peace," he says.
"And at the time when these terrorist atrocities [are] committed against Muslims, it's a religion of terrorism. And it says in the Quran, when the land is occupied, strike terror in heart of the enemy any which way you can."
Of course, this one particular British muslim may not be considered an accurate representation of the entire muslim religious population...
I personally know a number of moderate muslims who I am very confident do not share similar extreme views. So, may it be the case that these muslim friends of mine are not 'true' muslims in a sense that they don't fully abide by the "word of Quran", especially the passages which seem to condone extremist views?
In our attempt to grade certain religious sect on the scale of "potential for violence", should we not go to the source, the blue print of the religious sect?
My take on this is very simple. If the blueprints of a given religion either call or condone extreme violence for sake of achieving certain higher purpose, than such religion should be labelled for what it is - extreme and violent.
Does christian religion call for the shedding of blood in pursuit of a higher 'holy' cause? Yes. The old testament is full of the "eye for the eye" verses. Jews follow many of the old testament tenants. They will strike you back if you harm them. Conversely, they will invite you to their house if you mean no harm.
However, there are also the new age christians who closely follow the teachings of Jesus. His teachings are of love and non-violence. In fact, He went up on the Cross without struggle. He was punched without punching back. He blessed those who cursed him, prayed for those conspiring to harm him. Being a pentecostal christian, I am of the belief that violence is not condoned and a sin in each and every sense you look at it. There's no excuse for bloodshed. There are no exceptions to taking a human life. This is why I can firmly state that my faith is founded on the teachings of love and peace.

Nuclear only energy moving forward!
Just stumbled on an article from Reuters titled "Nuclear and renewables drive UK energy policy" (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/energy_britain_dc). The key highlights are the alarming 90 percent foreign oil dependency and of course the adverse affects of burning oil on global worming.
UK is inching every closer to realizing that there may not be any other viable energy alternative beyond the nuclear power. No number of wind mills, solar panels, and even dams would be adequate for the kind of demand for energy that exist now in UK and the world around.
In my own humble opinion, the humanity is left with but one, however unpleasant and threatening, alternative in nuclear energy.
Of course, the risks associated with harnessing nuclear energy are immense. Chernobyl springs immediately to my mind. One minor incident could lead to a catastrophic disaster on a global scale. The remnants of a nuclear fallout are impossible to get rid off. One couldn't simply wipe it off with a soapy tissue. Unlike an oil spill, the spread of nuclear radiation cannot be easily contained or managed.
However, are we now at a point where even those nightmarish risks are far outweighed by what awaits humanity should we all run out of oil? We already begin to feel the pressures of raising oil prices. It is now becoming increasingly expensive to move from point A to B. Should oil production take a steep dive all the while world demand for oil increase at existing pace, the markets will tumble to the lows that would make the Great Depression look like a child's slide in your backyard. Billions of people would join the ranks of unemployed. The few rich will further isolate themselves from the growing ranks of less fortunate. And of course.. in the end the skies will fall down squashing everyone under the immense pressure.

The Korean Triangle...
A couple years ago, I was somewhat of a believer in that Saddam's regime had to be toppled to avert a possible nuclear or biological crisis. The thinking was that the mighty institution of CIA and their British counterpart MI6 couldn't possibly be wrong in their estimation of an overwhelming presence of the deadly WMDs and the mass annihilation of political dissidents in Iraq. Even reputable sources in the European nuclear agency seemed to be reading form the same page.
Well, little did we know, that this and numerous other reasons to push the Iraqi issue into a military standoff, in fact an invasion of a sovereign country, was nothing less but the age old drive for one empire state (US) to expand into new territories and exploit natural treasures that lie therein (think Oil). This current diplomatic - and nothing more than a war of words - crisis with the rogue state of Korea only underscores my belief that Mr. Bush will only take up a fight for "humanity" when there's a significant monetary payoff at the other end…
... it is only because there's no monetary gain to be had from a conflict with North Korea that Mr. Bush would rather opt not to pursue the "struggle for the world freedom".
Wonder now why the greater majority of the world populace views the States as a rogue empire? And not as a beacon of freedom, justice, and opportunity. Your thoughts?
